AboutUs

Introduction

We, the musicians of "Dhwani," are but humble instruments in the hand of the divine musician, masterfully crafted to play the instruments Tabla, mridangam, Saxophone, guitar, flute, and violin to offer the waters of the musical river of Dhwani. Channeling the harmonious compositions in Carnatic, Hindustani, and fusion genres, our hearts beat, our voices echo, and our minds resonate in unison with the timeless tradition of Indian culture and classical music. As devoted musicians, we surrender ourselves and let the divine flow through us, guiding each note with divine grace. Every melody becomes an offering, a sacred expression of our deep reverence for the divine. Our music embodies a spiritual journey, igniting a deep respect for goodness and a profound admiration for the magnificent and marvelous culture and music that our land, India, has produced.

Background

In the halls of their college, Sai Abhiram, Sujay, Vishwambhara, and Anuj found their musical bond, envisioning a band that embodied Carnatic, Hindustani, and fusion genres. Amidst exams and other pursuits, their dream took shape on 26th July 2023 when "Dhwani" was born. Influenced by Kadri Gopalnath, Rajendra Nakod and many such legends their love for classical music drove them to form a versatile ensemble with instruments like Tabla, mridangam, Saxophone, guitar, flute, and violin. Devoted to the divine, "Dhwani" exclusively performs for our gods through classical music and occasionally fusion, seeing them as their beloved masters. Their music seeks to bring people closer to spirituality and uplift souls.

Culture

Deeply rooted in Indian culture, "Dhwani" carefully curates songs that reflect their rich heritage of classical compositions and devotion. By sharing these timeless melodies, they aim to instill bliss in listeners, fostering an appreciation for their cultural roots. The band's tagline, "Pavaka nah Saraswati vajebhir vajineevati," from Rigveda 1.3.10 epitomizes their philosophy - their music as a purifying offering, calling upon Goddess Saraswati to accept their devotion. With each note, "Dhwani" seeks to bridge the divine and mortal, leaving an everlasting impact on hearts and minds worldwide.
